I'm not sure why Madden was so defensive about it in that article unless he was just anticipating some future grumblings. I just want them to compete, no matter who's on the field, and it sounds like Madden is promising that, at least in the article. Though the fact that they just got swept by the Pirates shows that the players have probably already mailed it in emotionally, regardless of what Madden said. --- Don't mind me.
