California has WAY more homeless than pretty much any other state. And if it were just the weather, than places like Florida wouldn't have 20% the same homeless population California does. Hell, New York is the next closest in homelessness and that place gets cold as fuck. California might have more but its still a major issue for the US as a whole That's some fancy handwaving. I should mention that violence is also a problem throughout the world, but clearly some areas have it worse.
