Big government telling you what you can and can't do - the complete opposite of what his party (Republican) wants. They don't want to be told that they can't vape because it's unhealthy. The registered voters of the Republican party likely damn well know that it's unhealthy, but it's a cheaper and cleaner alternative to smoking so to be told that they can't do it goes against everything they strive for.

I'm willing to bet that Trump, once he gets enough push-back on this, will cave in and blame someone else (Democrats) for the push-back instead of admitting that he was wrong.
