ECW A Matter of Respect
Week 2, May 1996

Sabu and Mustapha Saed have a slightly more laid-back match than one might expect, with Sabu going over. (C) Heyman brings out the women of ECW to fill our eye candy quota with a bikini contest. Missy Hyatt wins. (C+) Taz defends his TV title against the Network's Jericho next! Taz drags a decent match out of the rookie Jericho, and gets the big win despite Alfonso's ringside protestations. (D)

The Hardy Boyz look to make a statement against Big & Strong, but alas, tonight is not the night to make themselves famous. The kids show a lot of heart, but Henry and Bigelow just can't be stopped. (C-) Cactus and Whipwreck want to settle the score FOR GOOD. (C) They brawl all over the ring, and Cactus legit breaks Whipwreck's hand with a chair stomp! He gets a rather rushed win shortly thereafter. (C+)

The time for philosophy is over, as Stevie Richards attempts to beat some atonement out of the sanctimonious Barry Windham. Dreamer is at ringside, torn as always between his loyalty to ECW and his belief in Windham's teachings. Stevie winds up making the decision for him, as he takes time to argue with him, giving Windham time to set up for a Flying Lariat for the win. (C)

We're supposed to have a tag title match with the Pitbulls defending against the returning Steiners, but the Steiners jump the champs on the ramp! The match never gets started, but the Steiners lay out the champs and pose with the belts, their point made. They've been taking notes on XIII's B8WL run. (C-)

Too Cold Scorpio gets his shot at Shane Douglas' ECW Title! The usually easygoing Scorpio is serious tonight, pushed by constant patronizing and disrespect from the Network. Champ and challenger take some time feeling each other out, and before too long, Jericho and Alfonso make an appearance at ringside. (presumably Whipwreck is there in spirit) Their harrassment turns the tides in Douglas' favor- all stuff we've seen before from them. It's starting to look grim for Scorpio....when out from the back charges LA PARKA, back from injury and out for revenge! He takes out Jericho with a chair! Alfonso bails! Parka even slides in the ring for a staredown with Douglas. No contact is made....but Scorpio hits the Diss That Don't Miss! 1....2....3! Scorpio has, with Parka's help, triumphed over the Network! (C-)

@WarThaNemesis2 you get to determine how the Network reacts to this batch of losses! Do they press on, still a dominant force? Kick somebody out? Disband entirely? Become jobbers? Something else within reason? Your call!
