Dude, you're throwing out some of the weakest arguments I've ever heard right now.

They didn't take it, they were given it. The law is pretty clear that when you give a gift, you waive any rights to take it back. It's not yours when you give a gift, so it's not the bank's money when they gave it to these guys.

Key word. No person or business would ever consider a phenomenal amount of money suddenly transferred to your account with no warning or explanation a "gift."

Do we? We know banks are supposed to super-mega-ultra secure as that's why we trust them to hold every penny we earn. If we knew banks were bumbling idiots who might just empty your bank account in to somebody else's pocket, we wouldn't trust them to operate.

Are you actually arguing that banks are absolutely perfect? No human or computer is flawless. Banks are intended to be much safer and more convenient than keeping your money yourself, and when something does go wrong they are expected to rectify the situation.

You can reasonably assume transactions that have been heavily vetted are legitimate

Most of the time, yes. Suddenly gaining a hundred thousand dollars would cause any reasonable person to check where the hell it came from and why.
