I'm diggin' that weather and trying to understand the level of non-divergence at about the 500 mb height and vorticity, etc.
So I understand that a negatively tilted trough tends to be associated with more severe weather but I'm having trouble visualizing why. Is it related to a negative tilt yielding higher Earth vorticity (more south to north flow) in addition to the counter-clockwise flow or is that a separate thing?
