I only fling poo on obsolete Internet forums, though. :-P As far as comics go, I almost wish they'd do the opposite: Instead of making the characters 'modern', they go back and make comic books or movies that place the characters back in the time periods when they were first introduced (or first retooled to become the versions most fans know, e.g. the X-Men).
