Maybe they dont have anywhere else to go. I heard New York can be expensive and stuff. Maybe this place was somewhat cheap for the amount of room. And close enough to walk to work. Maybe the other buildings in the area are full. Could be a number of reasons. Could be something about family, or moving expenses. Or that theyll be moving in about half a year and dont want to sign another full year lease somewhere else... Or maybe they dont know that they could break their lease over the death.
