Just give her the money and she can go buy her own damn food. I'd guess it has to do with the bonding/social aspect. Take a girl to dinner, you can make her feel like you care. Give a girl money and she feels like you're just buying sex. Just kinda the perception works I guess. I mean, it's not like someone necessarily cares because they took someone out to dinner.
