The Avengers movies never rose above being movies that accomplish what they set out to do and little else to me, but I understand fanservice is part of the point with them. I saw Independence Day for the first time in 2017 and found it pretty boring TBH, although not really bad so much as just dull. I get the appeal but still, wow.
