It's because trichromia wasn't prevalent (or whatever rod/cone is responsible for "blue")that sounds interesting, but that's not at all what the article you posted said. the article said only that blue tends not to show up in nature very often (for some reason they're ignoring water and the sky), so many cultures don't really think of it as a color and don't have words for it. as I quoted above, the article ends with them admitting that our ancestors would have seen blue just as we do, it just wasn't very important to them. --- ...
