At least half the voter base isnt even aware of the evidence discovered so far. This will grab a lot of peoples attention and get some listening. If they hear the facts and still want to vote for Trump in 2020 then thats their choice.
This is a major misread. There have been tons of recent polls on this, the American people dont favor impeachment. The republicans tried this with Clinton and paid dearly. I could be wrong, but I think this will be supremely unpalatable. The Mueller testimony made the Dems look like idiots. This will likely be more of the same.
But it could be more like what Mead said. They may just be trying to get the information out there. They probably dont really care if he is impeached or not...
The problem is they've been crying wolf for a very long time. Even if there's some heinous shit in there, people will probably assume its just a nothingburger like everything else they've churned out. If they had focused on things that actually mattered to begin with, it might mean something.
This is just going to guarantee him the election. Even if they vote completely partisan and impeach him they will never have enough votes to remove him from office. Because of that his voting base will be furious and will put him back in office for 4 more years. ---
