"America's obsession with guns" has to start somewhere. Making people want to own a weapon because it looks cool or it makes you feel like a badass is a BAD correlation. If you own a gun you're your own man and can defend your own house.

Firearms shouldn't be portrayed as awesome things, they should be seen as dangerous and complex machines that aren't meant to do anything other than harm. In defense, possibly, but there isn't an outcome where shooting a weapon isn't with the intent of imparting lethal force.

If you want to claim there's a firearm obsession in America, I'm going to tell you what I think inspired my interest in them. You probably hate it because it hits too close to home but frankly it's true. I like firearms and want to own them because I think their portrayal in video games made them seem interesting to me.


Every other first world country has access to the same media that we do, why the fuck don't they have a gun issue?
