| Forceful_Dragon 08/01/19 12:04:09 AM #216: | Giants kept Smith and Bumgarner, which I'm very much in favor of, but the moves they did make puts a hole in our bullpen that I'm not sure it's consistent. On the one hand keeping our bigger names indicated we're playing for THIS season. And why not? With a mlb best July we pulled within 2 games of a wild card slot. The playoff potential is there. But what did we get for our trades? A handful of guys who "might" be ready good the majors "soon". Only Gennet seems liable to see play soon, and he's been lackluster so far this year, having a late start owing to injuries. I feel like we needed to pick up more reliable offensive production of we were really planning to make the most of THIS year and we didn't get it. . With that said they have momentum on their side and they have enough pieces there that they can definitely do it, I was just surprised by the inconsistency in that approach and I'm worried that we are going to start forfeiting close games down the stretch if the relievers we have to call up don't perform as well as we need them to. --- ...
