Didn't read the article but if the kid that got in trouble hucked the ball, the kid that got hurt could have turned his head or body in a way where he put himself in harm's way. Happens all the time. This. You have to usually throw hard so it goes faster and is harder to catch... If you don't throw hard, you'll either miss because they dodged, or be out because they caught it. I wasn't good at throwing. That's why I just did my best dodging... That's being said, if they other article is true and they were playing tips instead of dodgeball, that's different.
