I still feel perfectly safe. I've gotten to know all the cops over the 2 and a half years I've worked there, and I have total faith in the vast majority of them. They're genuinely some very good people. One of them actually told me tonight that he "couldn't believe we let this happen to one of our guys." They've gone out of their way to check on me and make sure I'm okay many times in the past. A couple of times I've had them just stop in to give me a heads up that something had happened that night, and if I saw a certain car or particular person I should try to avoid them and call the station right away. Sort of a "hey buddy, we're looking for this guy and he's not someone to f*** with, so if you see him you get yourself safe and let us know."
