It reported that a 10-year-old Canton Township boy assaulted a 9-year-old male classmate while playing a game called Tips in late April.
Tips apparently uses a rubber ball similar to the kind used for dodgeball. The ball is not thrown. Instead, players form a circle and a ball is tossed in the air. Players must catch the ball while jumping off the ground.
Prosecutors alleged the 10-year-old took the ball and intentionally threw it with force once the game was over. The 9-year-old suffered a concussion and abrasions, causing the childs mother to file a police complaint.
