brestugo 07/30/19 9:42:00 PM #11:	I studied for 20 years. I don't actively do it anymore. I'll watch a movie in Japanese or the sumo basho now and then and of course if I go to Japan I'll speak it. Most of my Japanese friends (in the US & Japan) prefer to speak in English with me nowadays. I do order in Japanese when I go to a Japanese restaurant, even in the US. For whatever reason though, I am finding that many Chinese and Koreans are opening Japanese places and the staff doesn't speak Japanese. Sitting at the counter and chatting up the sushiya and watching him cut fish can be enjoyable. --- It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. <cite>brestugo posted [p:925406879] in learn Japa...
