At a minimum, this trade at least makes it very clear they have no intention of contending this year, for anyone that thought they might be trying cuz they got stroman. The Stroman trade was obv an attempt to contend in 2020 only. But, in the funny part of the trade, since the guy they got is a no bat, all-defense 26 year old in AA... it looks like he played at Penn with Jeff Wilpon's son in college so like.... yep certainly no ulterior motive here lol. Can't be mad either way cuz like I said it literally could've been anyone, I was expecting nothing for him. But man, the Wilpons gonna Wilpon. Also fuck Jason Vargas for being a piece of shit.
