It's been almost a year since the nomination period for my last song ranking topic and I want more new songs, so here we go again!

TL;DR version

Nominate up to 10 songs. 72 hours from this post the limit will increase to 15 if there are still slots remaining, so come back then if you want more noms. I don't really care about the format of nominations, so don't concern yourself with the preferred format unless you want to.

1: As stated above, you have 10 nominations to start with; after three days, we'll go up to 15. There's a hard cap of 300 songs, though I'll be content with however many we wind up with.

Name is self-explanatory. For foreign titles, it would be greatly appreciated if you could offer something using English characters alongside the correct name like a guess at a translated name, Romaji or other transliteration, or even just an arbitrarily chosen word or number? I'm going to be typing thoughts and notes on devices that may not display foreign characters correctly and if you only list foreign characters then things may show up blank for me occasionally--if you don't have anything, that's fine, it's just easier for me to keep track of things if there's at least one letter, symbol, or number that I can always see and refer back to.


Origin can be either the artist name (if you know it), the name of the media the track appeared in (if known), or blank if you truly can't find anything.

Links can be any site that I can get to play; YouTube, Spotify, Bandcamp, SoundCloud, whatever. As long as I can hear the song, it's fine.


Contest is open to all types of songs: Commercial releases, live versions, covers, parodies, commercial jingles, remixes, mash-ups, VGM, unnamed background tracks you found on some video and can't assign any name or artist to, whatever. There are no restrictions; you may nominate whatever amuses you.

There will be no formal scoring system and all placements will be based entirely on where I want them to be. There will be no attempts at objectivity and my opinion may be swayed by anything. I also reserve the right to have tied rankings this time; if I, for example, want to have a three way tie for third place than I'm totally doing that this time.



There will be write-ups, but you should probably expect them to be on the shorter side this time. Most of my notes and typing will be done on a phone with an on-screen keyboard, so long messages will be...difficult. Not to say that there won't be any bizarre roleplaying tirades, tail wagging, and arbitrary tangents, just...ya know...slightly harder to type them all out than it was the first time around.

I also reserve the right to refer to myself as whatever species amuses me at the time including but not limited to: bunny, fox, pony, wolf, robot, squirrel, naga, and the metaphysical representation of chaotic space who communicates through boxing matches IN YOUR MIND.

...okay that last one might have been a half-recalled Voyager episode, but I still reserve that right. </.<

Also, the ranking itself will probably take longer this time... more songs + harder time typing + less time to listen & type = probably not my best idea. Still, I'll post regular progress updates and have faith that I'll complete it eventually!

...Probably. Hopefully. Either way, it'll be an adventure! As much of an adventure as clicking random YouTube links can be, anyway...
