Honestly, Trump is absolutely right - these women should go back to their own country and fix it, because it's a disastrously run, crime-ridden mess with a complete moron in charge and a change in leadership is desperately needed. If and when they fix it, I'm sure Americans will be very impressed.

You nailed it. Very well said.

Everything is about race/identity and politics nowadays and I'm tired of seeing it.

Identity politics aren't just about race though. Trump is engaging in a lot of evangelical identity politics, for example.

I'm tired of hearing how bad the white man is.
Many of us haven't even done anything wrong and are mostly just trying to live their lives and yet we get lumped together with those who actually have done bad things.

I think the real question is, why are you lumping yourself in with "bad white men" if you're not a bad white man? If someone points out the reality that white men commit more mass shootings, this is not an indictment of you, who I presume has never committed a mass shooting. It's an indictment of white men who commit mass shootings. If the conversation is about white men who are racist or misogynistic, you need to realize the conversation isn't directed at you if you are not a racist or a misogynist. Getting riled up and defensive just makes you unhappy, will cause others to accuse you of being a member of those groups, and does nothing to solve the problems being discussed.

And besides, doesn't everyone deserve a second chance if they screw up and want to be a better person?

Now this I can agree with. Racism is abhorrent, evil, inexcusable, and should never be tolerated. But racists are human beings, and treating them as irredeemably evil beings who can never change will not solve the problem of racism in this country. I read a story once of how a former KKK member wound up rejecting his racist past, and became active in a majority black church. What made him start to change was being gently challenged to think critically, and treated with love by his black pastor neighbor. Racism is very often rooted in ignorance and fear; love, compassion and knowledge are the antidotes to that.
