I haven't beaten it yet so I'm not revealing the spoiler, but casual reminder there was only ever supposed to be AC1, AC2, and AC3 (and AC3 wasn't even going to be the AC3 we actually got) and then Ubisoft got money-hungry and started adding in games and completely destroyed the original vision for the series. True, but it did produce two of the three best games in the series, blackflag and origins. Origins basically completely retconned the lore though, as good as that game was. Oh it definitely retconned just about everything, but ubisoft themselves hadn't given a shit about lore in nearly a decade either. The most popular discussions on the AC subreddit tend to involve people begging ubi to hire a goddamn lore master or even spend 20 minutes glossing over the fan wiki.
