Like when I was that age I said the f word all the time and Im not gonna sit here and lie like those people. I was homophobic at that age but by my senior year of high school I knew multiple gay people and I stopped being homophobic and saying the f word. Now at 30 when I hear people say it I correct them and disassociate from them completely. I cringe when I hear it in old rap music I listen to. I dont even say the lyric.

When people say shit like that I guarantee you thats how they feel.

I still say the f word on occasion and I never hated gay people. My favorite person in the world is gay. Now imagine also if at 15 you were treated as you were an irredeemable pariah that could never grow and change. There are tons of dumb teenagers that say shit like that. It is one thing to be like fuck that kid. It is another to harass them on social media and stalk their family and future employers bringing up old tweets.
