If youre not carrying a balance or paying interest you should get a second card. Just avoid annual fees and there is literally no downside.

In the short term your credit will take a hit due to the hard check, but in the long term you will benefit from your number of accounts, low credit usage, and overall higher credit limit.

Credit is a long term game. Im 32 and have three cards, and will likely get a fourth by the end of the year. Just avoid carrying balances and annual fees and youll keep going up.

Edit: Just to clarify, annual fees dont hurt you but theyre a waste of money imo.
