I have no idea when they thought this sort of thing "went away," but I have a hunch that it's more of that "if it's not in my face, it must be an exaggeration when others talk about it" type of thing. still... far too many give it the benefit of the doubt even when it IS in their faces. always wanting to make fucked up rhetoric look as if there was just some misunderstanding, lol. as if it's not a reoccurring pattern. --- Never let those intent on misunderstanding you be the narrator to YOUR story!
