I had a cousin and her husband who drank diet coke like that and it was 24 cans apiece. They were unfortunately grossly obese. They'd order fast food and order several value meals to eat (each) with their diet cokes to drink.

On the rare occasion they ate salad, they'd dump almost the whole bottle of dressing into the bowl, making it more like soup than sald and vastly increasing the calories

My cousin passed away from cancer (unrelated to her health as shocking as that is) but her husband is still alive. Or what's left of him. No left leg, part of right foot is gone with no toes left because of the bad diabetes. Blind in one eye as too. Cirrhosis of the liver but too obese to get a transplant. Did the stomach "sleeve" surgery but he didn't cooperate with it so it ended up expanding back to the normal size

It's sad but he had so many chances to fix things. He was warned numerous times his health was going downhill. He kept saying "you can't tell me how to live my life. "
