Nintendo has spent countless years pimping it out to the extreme, way more than their other legacy systems, akin to Game Freak's Charizard favouritism. Inevitably, this kind of overexposure is going to lead to "overrated" claims and disillusionment. But just like "It's freakin' CHARIZARD"... it's the freakin' NES! While the key games have been re-released ad infinitum (which explains why they're such a weak selling point for Switch Online), many of them are still incredible. They have a lean, distilled type of magic that I don't think gets enough credit these days.
