It's a moot point, but I'd like to believe the president was misinformed instead of just being a racist douchebag. This isn't to say that he's not a racist douchebag, though. It's a common element among his political party - encouraging and dispersing fear and hatred to foreigners and people that look anything but white and practice a religion that is anything but Christianity. The irony is apparent, though, and a sign of hypocrisy, as one of the core tenements of the majority of the Christian faith is tolerance and acceptance of others, especially those that are different. However, like above, it's also a common trope in this faith to cherry-pick what parts of your faith you actually want to follow and which ones to...overlook. Adultery? Theft? Bearing false witness?
