It happened more than once. Idk all the details but ive even seen them ripping the underpinning off trailers and looking under them. I grew up in a heavily hispanic neighborhood. But hey no one gives a fuck until its done by the president apparently.

I guarantee you people cared back then. "It happened before and no one cared" is an extremely poor reason to be apathetic now.

I never really heard about it much until Bush and then it was mostly just the "dey took er jerbs" people bitching. I'll give you that I was a kid and not paying much attention though. But to say as many people cared back then vs now i feel is wrong.

Now I do feel the need to say so you dont get the wrong idea about me. I want them to make the legal process far easier. I really do. All I care about really is are they a criminal and are they willing to try to learn English. I dont expect them to become fluent but an honest attempt would be nice.

Well also id like them able to be a productive member of society if possible if im being honest but I know there's gonna be some hardship cases that wont meet that. So some exceptions should be made.

A lot of it is though i feel they should be documented. There should be files proving they exist here just like any other us citizen.

Didn't say "as many."

What makes you think that the majority of these people aren't trying to become productive members of society? They have jobs. They participate in their local economies. The US used to have tons of communities where no one spoke English, so I'm not too riled up about that personally.

As it currently stands, documentation just looks like a way for ICE to easily round you up after you've been assimilated into the country for fifteen years. Hell, just look at all the people who want the citizenship question on the census without understanding what a horrifically bad idea that is. This country is not friendly to undocumented immigrants and it gives them no real incentive to "get papers."

I never once said they werent trying to be productive. Trust me ive worked construction ive seen a shit ton working their asses off. Just that its one of the things I want in someone trying to immigrate over here. On that note though I feel bad for them cause being illegal they get fucked over badly on their pay. At least some of the ones I talked to.

And for the rest of what you said. Well to be more clear I want the legal process completely overhauled and made much more simple. Idk if its this way today but ive been told they where expected to learn our history and shit like that. Stuff like that I feel is stupid especially when its things even we natural born citizens arent even expected to learn.

It would be nice if we could completely overhaul the system. DACA was a step in the right direction, but we've seen how Trump treated that.

Yes, to pass the citizenship test, you have to learn a lot of US/Constitutional history. It's bonkers to think that the president couldn't pass this test, but that's the reality we live in.
