Oh, you took harmony to mean vocal harmony? What I meant with harmony was that I very much prefer that the songs in my playlists segue from one another smoothly. A block of folk songs followed by soul could be jarring, but if a juxtaposed soul and folk song share similar (thouygh not identical) instruments and tempo in their respective first and final ~10 seconds, then the transition is much smoother.

I'll add ten of my favorites. Mostly electronic, as the sixties were just an amazing time for electronic music. Though this music is so often done as long compositions rather than bite size tracks.

Nice list there. Lots of familiar names there, such as Tod Docksteader and Silver Apples. They actually represent two sides electronic music in the sixties. Traveling Music is a fine example of musique concrte, whereas Silver Apples is psychedelic pop incorporating electronic effects and a steady, almost robotic beat. Proto-house music, if you will. Most electronic music before the 1970s were long and highly experimental mosaics produced with sped up, slowed down, and reversed sound effects and speech samples. It's the avant-garde jazz of electronic music, I suppose. Though I have to say that Captain Beefhart's Frownland feels more like free jazz with how almost atonal it is. 23 VIII 64 2:50:45-3:11 AM The Volga Delta, on the other hand, is strangely trance-inducing despite (or due to) being 20 minutes of almost invariable metallic groaning and humming. I must add it to my sizable collection!

how in the hell have you never heard of phish

Just found out that Phish hasn't had much success outside the US. That explains it, I think.

Bob Dylan

I have most of these in my playlists. Funny though, I like his electric songs more than his acoustic ones. Yeah yeah, I know, heresy. But I really liked his Highway 61 album than any of his others.

Sigs are rather pointless, except if it's to showcase animation and images.
