She could get 5 months probation for all we know. Similar to the other crimes you listed, normally they are charged with 25 plus years but plea bargain to a reduced sentence to avoid trial and therefore "cost." When they say up to whatever years , that's when indeterminate sentencing comes into play. That is when you hear 5-15 years for crimes.
