Also it's significantly easier than ever before because now women have more earning power for themselves and do not need to rely on marrying a man for financial need quite as much as they used to. Men also just have, generally, healthier conception of women as equals which makes a happy relationship more likely. The only way in which things are more difficult now compared to for our parents is that we are in a worse financial situation due to unfettered capitalism.
