I think you're making things sound weirder than they really are. Basically it's finding a best friend for life who you want to bang and vice versa. I'm not saying that's easy, because finding a good friend is tough AND you have to want to bang them AND they have to want to bang you. But it's not some mysterious arcane artifact of modernity. It's just that all relationships between multiple people are going to be complex. The kid in elementary school who can't make any friends in class, that's complex too.
