Why is alcohol an acceptable drug to you, but weed is an unacceptable one?
I think alcohol is acceptable because it is legal. I tell my cousin all the time who smokes weed I will try it out when it is legal. Lol.
Then you will say, why did you drive when over the limit then if it is illegal. Which I will reply, that if I thought I was over the limit I wouldn't have. Alcohol is the great deceiver for a reason!
I don't think Weed is particularly a harmful drug. I know it is one that is illegal, could get my fired at my job, and preclude me from getting jobs I want tho!

I am aware. And, I don't care that people smoke weed where it isn't let alone where it is. More people I know around me smoke weed than don't. I just won't do it. Not like I am going narc on them. I for most parts could give a shit less what people do unless it has a tangible affect on me or my loved ones.
Wanna smoke weed? Blow coke? Whatever when at home. Go for it.
Those are your consequences. Your an adult and can make your own decisions.
