Maneki Neko means Beckoning Cat in the Japanese culture (also Welcoming Cat, Lucky Cat, Money Cat). It is believed if the right paw is raised up it will bring goodluck and wealth, left paw up customer/people. It is popular in restaurants and drinking establishments but alot of people have them up near entrances to homes or just for decorations. I decided to go with the lucky charm paw up.

This is my first artwork tattoo, and being a spent a good enough time in Japan I wanted to get something to remember this amazing place. Geisha partly means art, and a symbol of beauty that is often unattainable. There's a hidden meaning in this tattoo also, girl who loves cats, but that's for a story to explain when I'm drunk or just emotional, but nonetheless, this tattoo has a meaning to me.
