Topic	Somebody explain the entire story of digimon to me

The first two seasons have a bunch of story arcs with separate villains threatening the digital world and then also threatening the real world. Then you have season 3 which has something resembling a coherent story, but I never finished watching it and then never bothered with the sequels.
