Of course they can be wrong. If it was a popular custom to kill people that doesn't make it morally right. That was a poorly thought out idea by that resident.

Yeah from what I gather the event is only around 20 years old. An international organization, Humane Society International is one of the groups trying to shut down the "festival" but the activists that are doing the actual work in China are Chinese.

dont know if accurate but seems over 80% of the dogs they sell to eat are stolen and they ve been fighting for animal cruelty laws too
they are tortured like in the video that guy described because they claim it makes them taste better >_<
