He has a point. If you ignore really busy people maintaining a perfunctory presence on FB (many people I know fall into this category), then many of the other users seem to be trying too hard to present a fulfilling and interesting life to be actually living such a life. A good portion of the people I know travel occasionally, capturing every moment here and there. Of course, if you're adventurous, you're more inclined to have a stronger social media presence. If you're more low key, having a social media page doesn't seem like an inconvenience, even if just to keep up with past friends or acquaintances.
