there are many cases in which a woman hits her partner and the guy calls the police and... HE gets arrested for domestic violence.

The law wasn't designed to treat men and women equally (don't believe me? See how many alimony and child custody battles go when both parties have similar profiles), ESPECIALLY when it comes to sex stuff or physical confrontations.

Those hot female school teacher who mess around with underage male kids get away with a slap on the wrist most of the time, while a a guy who takes a piss at a dark corner behind a bar ends in the sex offender registry.

You just don't hit a woman, period. It's not out of chivalry or a misguided sense of righteousness, it's out of the pragmatic desire to not end in fucking jail. If she has a knife, RUN, period. Using a chair or whatever to put distance between you and her is a smart idea too.

On the other side, the people suggesting that a guy can just "restrain her, bro" and that women can hardly harm men because they're puny and weak need a reality check, both are made of flesh and bone, and anyone can suffer injury.
