Because people don't know their history, and they won't integrate it into educational curricula. Look at all the people in CE who don't know the what or why of Stonewall. And as for the 'unnecessary division' I will never be okay kowtowing to ignorance.

Yeah, often those with the power and authority to write the curricula mostly use it to repeat the messages that support the status quo. When that status quo is a whitewashed, heterowashed version of history, as it often is, they fail as educators. Everyone loses.

You're so out of it.

The public education system is not out to enforce positions of power.


It isn't. They're trying their damnedest to not do that, at least outside of, like, Alabama. There's probably still quite a bit of adjusted representation to work through, though. How long did it take for Colombus and Thanksgiving being a sham to become common knowledge?
