Because if I'm wrong, then the packaging is wrong as not only were they not refried - they were never fried to begin with, and can sue for much moneys Refried beans aren't twice fried. They are barely even fried once for that matter. Mashed beans, or bean paste, didn't market well. Refried beans are really just hot hummus.
