Clearly the PC is rendering the visuals correctly, as you can see everything on your monitor, so it has to be something hardware-wise with the headset or cables or link box. But on the other hand if the headset was 100% bad, you wouldn't even see the grid area thingy when it first boots... That's got me leaning toward the link box as the culprit.
