The basic concept of being "proud to be straight" is not homophobic, but the straight pride movement is deeply rooted in a homophobic effort to dismiss the basic concept of gay pride, and anyone jumping on that bandwagon because they feel like it's reasonable to be proud to be straight is completely missing the point of gay pride (that is, a celebration of the hardships the LGBT community has had to overcome and a push back against the shame that's been forced on them for so long). Whether it's malicious or ignorant, straight pride is absolutely a homophobic movement.

Also, I liked one tweet I saw that said something along the lines of "Isn't a straight pride parade just traffic?"

That is a good assessment. It's more a reaction to the gay one than asserting itself on its own merits.
