The only thing the game cares about is speed.
You can be reckless as all hell, get caught and everything, but so long as you do it fast, it's an S rank.
Also here's a tip in case you don't know it yet:
If you fulton one of those massive rectangular supply things while on top, you can ride it. It's really awesome for clearing some missions ASAP. Do what you gotta do, then ride it out of the hot zone.
Yeah it just comes across as silly in-universe where one second he's complaining thst you made a mess of the mission, then the next he's going "Amazing! That right there is why you're the boss! Thr one and only" while talking about the same mission. It would have been fun if they had Ocelot record a vocal for cases like that.

No traces I think also is a near guarantee on S ranks. But that would be too dificult for more casual gamers. Basically psnk (perfect stealth no kills) but you also leave literally no trace you where there. Like knocked out guards damging equipment. Cant even tranq a animal I think. ---
