This is what happens when you see white people as the default. White crime is just seen as crime. Black crime is a problem for the black community to sort out.

Also there isn't really a "white community." The concept of racial communities is racist.

That's another issue that I've brought up with some friends and acquaintances a little while ago. The way black and white Americans identify themselves is different. White Americans just see themselves as Americans, as any of us really should, but don't see that when the celebrate their own family's cultures, Irish celebrations being a good example, it's no different than when we celebrate our origins as well.

Unfortunately unless we pay for some genealogy test, we don't have a specific culture from Africa to celebrate like our Latino, White and Asian counterparts. That's why we collectively come together as "Black" or "African American" while many others can specifically celebrate their German or Korean heritage rather than cover it as European and Asian.

That's pretty much the same way anyone who is curious about their heritage finds out about it. That's why websites like ancestry.com and 23andme exist. People at my work were talking about those websites too, and they were black. But you're right that heritage is a better thing to celebrate than racial genes because A) it's not inherently related to race and B) it reminds us of where we all came from in the world to eventually arrive at the same place. Heritage celebrations are an opportunity to unite people, while racial communities exist only to divide us.

No, it's the type of shit non racists say to people who like to use race to define themselves. Imaginary walls don't change any of this.

Poor response missing the actual point. White people tend to

If you have to lead with a racial stereotype as your premise, you've already lost.
