The poor ones are largely dopey bootlickers who love to serve power as long as they aren't at the bottom of the heirarchy and can be part of the winning side. Individual merit can be a preceding generation's merit. Some ancestor originally propelled the family to wealth, and it must have been that person's merit! Right, people who think that are the dopey bootlickers who love to serve power. The GOP symbol really should be a dog. To symbolize loyalty?
