The assassination of JFK was carried out by Lee Harvey Oswald through a set of documents which are known to all as "the Zapruder film". They were published on April 14, 1963, which the press labeled as "the largest secret ever recorded".
According to conspiracy theorists on both sides, the CIA and the assassination was instigated in order to remove JFK from power. Although most of these theories have been proved to be false, the theories are often used by conspiracy theorists in order to cast doubt on the official story.
The JFK Assassination
The JFK Assassination was started by the CIA in 1960. It seems that the CIA did not have full proof that Oswald was in Dallas on April 13, 1963. However, they did have information that Oswald was in Texas on April 9, 1963. According to conspiracy theorists, the CIA was trying to take out "the big fish", George de Mohrenschildt, the CIA agent who had betrayed JFK for the KGB on May 3, 1963 - shortly before the assassination (as reported in conspiracy papers of that era). The CIA wanted de Mohrenschildt arrested for "exposing CIA plots" to eliminate JFK if he tried to intervene with his brother Robert.
