after sitting on it for a few days the main thing about jafar that i disliked was how forced the whole "i'm gonna marry your daughter!" bit went. there's no implications that he even liked her that way so it's just kind of random. even just a little bit of him lusting for her or trying to gain power through her would've worked. instead you're left with a random reason that doesn't make the most sense.

i did forget how good Carpet was though. i don't know what Disney did to make both a parrot and carpet such compelling characters in a live action movie but i'm okay with this. especially the parrot, i had to double check to see if somebody legit voice acted that because i was completely fooled into thinking it was an actual bird.
