Topic	Why do prostitutes say it's the world's oldest profession?

There's no real evidence to support bartering until the rise of specialization which didn't happen until after the transition to an agrarian society. I don't really count hunting / gathering that was just shit you had to do to live. The real jobs back then would be medicine, fighting, and primitive tribal politics. Prostitution would have been a way for women to get things from men to help care for their children but it's impossible to say what came first.
