Production value of everything is WAY higher (the 2017 one seemed like it could be a legitimate escape room but this basically seems like an amusement park)
but the characters are largely pretty terrible so far. How is it that like only one person in the escape room knows how escape rooms work
so it was definitely not terrible. The designs of the rooms were all really cool, even if the puzzles themselves were a simplistic given the effort that seems to have gone into crafting the rooms themselves
(literally every room is basically one single, simple puzzle). My biggest issue was the writing and characters though. In literally the very beginning of the first room everyone's already losing their minds like they didn't voluntarily come to an escape room, and most of the characters seem to actively work against solving the puzzles to the point that the main protagonist has to solve nearly every one solo.
